Dalmatia

The longest part of the beautiful and very picturesquely indented Croatian coast, with the largest number of islands, belongs to Dalmatia - "the coast with a thousand islands". Among them are two Croatian national parks: Kornati, an island group consisting of about 40 wonderfully beautiful islands, and the island of Mljet, a real green jewel. The Dalmatian type of coast has already become a geographical term and a symbol of beauty, and it represents exactly what the long and beautiful Dalmatian coast offers in abundance: indentation, islands and islets, cliffs, peninsulas and coves, sea channels and mountain massifs that follow them for kilometers, and an endless expanse of rugged landscape, which in the past was named by a poet as "stony monsters facing the south, the open sea, the unknown...". The blue of the sea is also characteristic, which comes out even more because of this play of colors of all tones. Cities like Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Trogir and Dubrovnik, with their rich cultural heritage and beautiful architecture of all styles, represent an element of admiration, pleasure and inspiration. The abundance of Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation completes, but does not complete, this gift of God that has never been used to the end and is sufficiently valorized and the fruit of diligent human hands.
